Information entered on this site
This version has no newsletter, account-registration form, contact form, or checkout. Guide-finder choices, product-comparison selections, search terms, filters, country selection, and checklist selections are processed in your browser. The application does not send those entries to a server or store them between visits.
Hosting and external websites
The hosting provider may process standard access information, such as IP addresses and request logs, to operate and secure the service. Retailer and source links open external websites governed by their own privacy policies. Retailer links to Amazon.ca carry our affiliate tracking ID, and the destination may use tracking under its own policies.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to see which guides people read and how they arrive. Where it is permitted to run it sets cookies and sends Google a record of your visit: a randomly generated identifier, an approximate location derived from your IP address, the pages you viewed, and basic device information. We see only aggregate reporting and cannot identify an individual reader from it. You can block it entirely with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
If you are in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland
Non-essential cookies need your consent in those places before they are set. We do not run a consent banner, so rather than set them without asking, analytics and advertising storage are denied by default for visitors in those countries: nothing is written to your device and Google receives only aggregate, modelled signals.
Advertising
This site carries advertising served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies to show ads based on your previous visits to this and other websites. You can turn off personalised advertising in Google Ads Settings, or opt out of third-party advertising cookies at aboutads.info. Opting out does not remove advertising; it makes it less specific to you. The consent defaults above apply to advertising storage as well as analytics.
Retailer links and changes
Retailer links to Amazon.ca carry our Associates tracking ID, and Amazon applies its own cookies and policies once you arrive there. This notice must be reviewed if email collection, accounts, or a checkout are introduced.
